Nowell...

The Library

Yidon and Fang get comfy! It is a well documented fact the the House Library in Nowell was the largest and best in the school. This was in no small part due to the time, care, effort and love that was put in by Westy, and later Yidon and Fang.
You can read the rules of the library or you can just gaze in wonder at Yidon and me in the library. I'm not quite sure why it looks like I have been squashed into the corner. In this picture you can clearly see some of the prospectuses we collected. The 13 Brunel and 15 Bolton Institute prospectuses are clearly visible, as are some of the hundreds of departmental prospectuses sent to us by Birmingham. There is, however, a sad element to this picture. To the right one can clearly see some of the broken furniture that thoughtless people dumped in their library. The second shelf up housed the "Interestingly Titled Books" section. Here are the titles of our "Interestingly Titled Books":

Also in the library, but not visible in this picture, are the 100+ hymn books that Yidon and Fang saved from being thrown out.

The Brew

I actually had no idea why this was called the "brew". "Kitchen" would seem to be a better word. But never mind. Every house has a brew. They seem to be exempt from the rule that any food cooked on school property must taste as horrible as possible and have all the nutritional value of a credit card - unlike the school kitchens, where this rule was enforced with a passion by The Git and his minions.

The FridgeHere Yidon shows us the marvellous fridge in the brew. You will see in the next picture that I was not so sure about some of it's contents...

Another thing you can see in both these pictures is the old microwave. There is a new one there now. The one in these pictures exploded. I forget how and why. I will try to find out. Fang sniffs the praepo sausages

The Toilet

As well as being the source of curry, the toilet was one of Nowell's greatest attractions! Indeed most Nowellites visited it several times every day! Here is a picture of Yidon and me using the two main urinals. I always used the one on the right. I don't know why. Probably because Yidon always used the one on the left. I have other pictures taken in the toilets that I have lost, but will seek out. Obviously, no trip to the toilet was complete without someone using the phrase:
